Reviews
"What a great story. I hope there is a sequel. Or not. I don't know how the author could top this one. It's all you could want in sci-fi and more."
"The interplay between the two lead characters, Angel and Charlotte, is great. I don't know if this is the start of a series or a standalone, but I'm hoping it's the former."
"Crime noir. Fugitive quest. Thelma and Louise. Treasure hunt. Terminator chase."
"Inquisitor is an awesome adventure, choc full of mysteries as the Inquisitor attempts to solve a series of murders, and finds herself drawn into the conspiracies and machinations of the decadent megacorporations, and enigmatic Genevolves. Awesome story, hope there will be more."
Inquisitor eBook Mitchell Hogan
I found Hogan because of the other series of books he writes. While waiting for him to release the next book in that series I decided to pick this up and give it a try. This book doesn't have quite the same level of detail and development that his fantasy books do, but the pacing is a lot more action oriented. Don't get me wrong, the main characters aren't one dimensional, just not as developed as in his other books. This is mainly due to pacing. The book reads somewhat like a crime novel that develops into a fast paced action story. This makes it fun to read, and a bit lighter than his other works.
If you have enjoyed his other books so far, this is worth a read because it is still a quality book from a quality author.
If you haven't read anything else he has written, I would honestly suggest starting with his fantasy books if you want something meaty but starting with this if you want a bit more of a laid back read. You really can't go wrong either way.

Inquisitor eBook Mitchell Hogan Reviews
Excellent space opera. Plenty of twists to keep it interesting. The characters were mostly believable. "Thou doth protest too much" was a bit of a drawback but added to character development in the end.
This was my first time to read a Mitchell Hogan novel and I liked virtually ever aspect of the book. The plot and the characters fit nicely. I am looking forward to my next Mitchell Hogan book.
Conscience and sacrifice win out over a human/ artificial intelligence will t survive. l enjoyed the tough love motherly efforts to guide a young girl who is beyond human but is able to learn.
Surprisingly good. Fast and action-packed.
Biggest flaw is that Charlotte is about 1000x more interesting than every other character in the book. Other than Charlotte, don't go in expecting anything particularly impressive from the characters and you won't be disappointed.
Action packed non stop excitement featuring female characters as the primary protagonists. A well written and thoughtful futuristic galactic tale involving artificial intelligence , a hard driven humanistic detective, and organizational corruption and greed.
It was OK, but not good enough to finish. Seemed to dwell an awful lot on the main characters' feelings, which seemed to have little to
do with the overall plot. Moved along very slowly. A bit boring.
Inquisitors Xia is good cop, she just has trouble keeping partners and staying on the right side of her bosses. After poking into a case she has been ordered to stay out of she finds herself on the run, chased by good guy and bad. Did I mention her companion on the lam is a strange little girl she rescued from a top secret lab. It's worth the price of admission to follow the twists and turns of their adventure. I've got my fingers crossed hoping for a sequel.
